  • Hi Gus, it's always nice when mom can stay home to be with you all day. Sorry you missed the crows, though.
Today it was 44 when mom got up, which was way warmer than yesterday. It was raining, though, and rained most of the day until around 6. [] Mom and the girls just walked around the block this morning because of the bad weather.
Mom had a tour at the museum today. There were 220 kids from Pittsburgh Public Schools who were all musicians. Half of them toured the art museum with their docents, and half toured the natural History museum with mom and the other interpreters. Mom filled out the card, so she was the one who got the others organized and sent off with their groups, which meant she had the last group left. Well, it turned out to be the unruly group! One of the boys never shut his mouth, and several others were so distracted by the displays it was hard to keep their attention. They even had 2 chaperones with them! Mom kind of understood their excitement, because for about half the group it was their first time at the museum, and there is a lot to see. She took them into Egypt, then into gems and minerals, and finally into dinosaurs. The kids were distracted and chatty, but mom thinks they learned some things, and definitely thinks many will be back with parents.
When she got home, mom said she had to decompress for awhile, so she sat like a stone and watched some of the late shows from last night that were on the DVR. Later she got our dinners ready, got the dogs fed, had the rest of the pumpkin soup, and got ready to go out this evening.
There was a wine and cheese party at the wildlife center. The new volunteer manager wanted an opportunity to meet as many volunteers as possible. Unfortunately there was an accident on one of the main roads to get to the center, so some folks just turned around and went home. For the ones who went, like mom, there was plenty of wine and cheese, some fruit, and lots of good conversation! Mom got a chance to see volunteers she hasn't seen for awhile, since they work on different days. It was a lovely evening.
When she got home she had a message from Jeff so she returned his call. He said he was sorry about not planting today. Mom said she didn't expect him to do that, since it was raining all day long. They both decided to put any remaining tulip bulbs in the refrigerator and keep them until spring, when they can plant them in the ground. He also is starting amaryllis for her so we'll have some pretty blooms in a month or so.
We lucked out today, all the snow is north of the city. We're north too, but not as far north as where the snow fell. So our roads might ice up from all the rain today, but they should be okay by morning.
I hope you had a good day today and a lovely evening. Hugs and kisses from me to you, [] [] [] [] [] [] Falco
